Yeah, it has brand new Open Wheelers and all that, but what really caught my attention, since I have yet to unlock said Open Wheelers anyways, is a promotion from Hyundai for Save the Children, in which the company will donate to the charity an amount directly proportional to the amount of Time Trial laps ran by the community with the Hyundai Veloster Turbo between April 22 and May 12. The goal is set at 6 million laps, with over 250 thousand laps completed in the first day. As the laps build into preset milestones, all participants will receive in-game prizes and whoever scores the fastest time by May 12 will win a trip to the Rally of Italy as a Hyundai's VIP guest.

The event can be found under the Street Car International Series, the very first bonus series unlocked, and the track chosen for the event is the very accessible Circuit of Catalunya. Also, the Hyundai Veloster Turbo is currently unlocked and free of charge to make sure everyone has a chance to participate (unlike a certain Le Mans buildup event hosted by Porsche).

Now, I know this sounds like some sort of annoying propaganda or whatever, but really, an online, open to all, racing competition for charity... And it's so easy anyone can do. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Wish you could do more than one lap at a time! Could take a while to get to 6 million

With the amount of assists in that game, the car could pretty much just drive itself.

There are ways to increase the amount of laps you can drive, but that involves paying real money, which is where EA's cut will come from...

Well, those can be toggled pretty easy on the Options menu. With assists on maximum, you really only have to hold your phone steady, but you can choose to accelerate manually, drive by tilting or dragging, and turning off any steering, braking and traction assists. The braking assist will actually make you much slower since it doesn't seem to take into account tire and brake improvements. It just starts breaking a mile away from the apex.

I kind of figured that, I have 50 cars and haven't paid an actual cent to the game. Good to see them helping charity though!

To be completely honest, I wouldn't mind buying a pack of coins or whatever to support the developers, but they'd have to fix the AI first... Aggressive doesn't even come to close to the way TSM players will smash you against a wall. Either improve the AI to player input, or reduce the number of cars in some cup events.

Yep, right there with you. My 11 year old son & I love the game, but have fallen out of it recently. It just takes so long to complete some racing series, and many cars are just unobtainable without purchasing a shit ton of gold/$$$. I, being a cheap dad, refuse to give real money for a free game. I do love playing with the old school Charger & Challenger though. And the Corvette & Viper are awesome, too.

Not much one can do about the Gold, since it's practically a purchase-only item, but if they want to make this guy pay for cash, they'll have to do much better. I had to restart the game a couple days ago due to some weirdass problem on my phone and outdated cloud save games. Since I knew I was gonna unlock the Focus RS and the one time 20% discount right after the fourth race, I spent the best part of a week racing the first three events to upgrade my Silvia to the max and save up to get the Focus at full price. When I unlocked it, I had more than enough for the discounted car, plus upgrades. I must've raced the first race over a hundred times, hahahha....

Huh, ok. I saw the notification pop up but didn't read it - I'll have to go run some charity laps.
